Our Core Beliefs

‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’Matthew 22:39

‘Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did it to me.’Matthew 25:40

Jesus commanded us to love one another, and to care for the poor and the marginalized.

Jesus did not say “unless they are trans”, “unless they are gay”, “unless they are undocumented”, “unless they are Muslim”, or “unless they are homeless”.

Jesus taught that we are all deserving of love, compassion, and care “…on earth, as it is in Heaven.” We believe that America can be the beginning of that Kingdom.

How We Can Do It

America, if it is to be a “Christian Nation”, must:

  • Enshrine healthcare and housing as human rights;
  • Provide for the education and care of its children;
  • Strengthen and expand social services for the poor and needy;
  • Reform the criminal justice system to focus on rehabilitation rather than punishment;
  • Welcome immigrants and refugees with compassion and care, regardless of how they got here;
  • Protect our environment and care for creation;
  • Promote economic justice and equity;
  • Oppose war and violence, and actively work towards peace; and,
  • Defend the rights and dignity of all people, regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic.
